New temple presidents

Five new temple presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin their service later this year.

Robert Kent Bills, 67, Park Meadows Ward, Castle Rock Colorado Stake, called as president of the Denver Colorado Temple, succeeding President Mark A. Baer. President Bills’ wife, Susan Carolyn Dorius Bills, will serve as temple matron. He serves as a sealer in the Denver Colorado Temple and a Gospel Doctrine teacher. He has served as an Area Seventy, stake president, bishop and high councilor. A retired vice president of Merrill Lynch, he was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Trulen Gordon and Vola Anderson Bills.

Sister Bills serves as a Primary activities day leader and Primary pianist. She has served in a ward Relief Society presidency, ward Young Women presidency and as a ward Young Women adviser. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Richard Gordon and Theresa Vietti Dorius Sr.

Yu Chen (Philip) Ho, 60, Tao Yuan lst Ward, Tao Yuan Taiwan Stake, called as president of the Taipei Taiwan Temple, succeeding President Harvey G. Horner. President Ho’s wife, Mei Chen Lee Ho, will serve as temple matron. He serves as first counselor in the Taipei Taiwan Temple presidency. He has served as an Area Seventy, stake president, mission president’s counselor and bishop. A retired general manager of Beijing Millard Meeting Services Limited Company, he was born in Hualian, Taiwan, to Wu Ching Ho and I Lan Ho Song.

Sister Ho serves as an assistant to the matron of the Taipei Taiwan Temple. She has served as stake and ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women president’s counselor and ward Primary president. She was born in Yangmei, Taiwan, to Yuquan Lee and Peixuan Lee.

Douglas Murray, 73, Dundee 2nd Ward, Dundee Scotland Stake, called as president of the Preston England Temple, succeeding President Albert Roy. President Murray’s wife, Aileen O’Shaughnessy Murray, will serve as temple matron. He serves as a temple ordinance worker in the Preston England Temple and as a ward mission leader. He has served as stake president, district president’s counselor, bishop and branch president. A retired publicity manager, he was born in Dundee, Scotland, to John Larg and Jemima Crerar MacDougall Murray.

Sister Murray serves as a temple ordinance worker in the Preston England Temple and as a Relief Society president’s counselor. She has served on a stake Public Affairs Committee, as a counselor in stake and ward Relief Society presidencies and in a ward Young Women and Primary presidency. She was born in Dundee, Scotland, to James Donaldson and Lizzie Finnie O’Shoughnessy.

Harry Vern Payne, 75, Los Lunas Ward, Los Lunas New Mexico Stake, called as president of the Albuquerque New Mexico Temple, succeeding President W. Douglas Shumway. President Payne’s wife, Yerda Ruth Mason Payne, will serve as temple matron. He serves as a sealer in the Albuquerque New Mexico Temple and as a Temple Preparation class instructor. He has served as regional representative, president of the Spain Las Palmas Mission, stake president, bishop and high councilor. An attorney with Smith & Payne, P.C., he was born in Lordsburg, N.M., to Harry Vearle and Mandona Hanchett Payne.

Sister Payne serves as a ward cannery specialist. She served with her husband as he presided over the Spain Las Palmas Mission. She has also served as a ward Relief Society president, stake Family Record Extraction director, ward organist and Relief Society teacher. She was born in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Herbert Spencer Mason and Florence Hinckley Hoopes Mason Nixon.

Terry Dale Rogers, 65, Morning Sun Ward, Las Vegas Nevada Sunrise Stake, called as president of the Las Vegas Nevada Temple, succeeding President Bruce M. Ballard. President Roger’s wife, Sandra Lee Cooper Rogers, will serve as temple matron. He serves as second counselor in the Las Vegas Nevada Temple presidency. He has served as stake president, bishop, high councilor, branch president and as a temple ordinance worker.

Sister Rogers serves as an assistant to the matron of the Las Vegas Nevada Temple. She has served as a ward Relief Society visiting teaching coordinator and compassionate service leader, ward Young Women adviser and a temple ordinance worker. She was born in Henderson, Nev., to Johnson Max and Norma Cooper.
