Temple president to serve in Peru November 2018

The following new temple president and matron have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin their service in November.

Carlos Atilio Pérez Basso, 68, Montevideo 13th Ward, Montevideo Uruguay North Stake, called as president of the Trujillo Peru Temple, succeeding President Rómolo J. Casós. President Pérez’ wife, Raquel Beatriz Massia de Pérez, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Marlene M. Casós. He is a patriarch and temple sealer, and a former Area Seventy, Peru Lima North Mission president, stake president and bishop. Retired assistant to a property agent, he was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, to Julio Federico Pérez Esposito and Lidia Blanca Basso Berchot.

Sister Pérez is Sunday School teacher and temple ordinance worker. She served with her husband as he presided over the Peru Lima North Mission, and is a former stake and ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women president and ward Primary presidency counselor. She was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, to Juan Pedro Massia Brito and Elvira Elena Paro Bertola.
