Now in its third year, the contest features original videos that focus on the value of faith in society. Entries have been narrowed down to the top ten finalists and will remain open until July 31, 2018.
According to Mormon Newsroom, viewers are able to vote once a day until the contest ends. The winners will be announced on or close to Aug. 10, 2018.
Contestants were asked to film a video no more than two minutes in length responding to the prompt "How faith changes lives, relationships and communities for the better."
The winner of the "fan favorite" contest will receive a $10,000 cash prize. Afterwards, the ten finalists will be judged by a panel of judges from the film and interfaith community to decide who will win the grand prize of $20,000. An honorable mention will also receive $2,500.
The grand prize winner will be announced on Sept. 14, 2018, at the 69th annual Religion News Association Convention held in Columbus, Ohio. They will also be shared on the Faith Counts social media channels.
Faith Counts was founded in 2014 by the Church and other faith organizations after seeing a steady decline of religiosity and church attendance.
The organization encourages others to share their faith experiences on social media with the hashtag #FaithCounts.
