From posters to ribbons to Church members lining up on both sides of the street, Latter-day Saints in the isles of the sea gave President Russell M. Nelson and his wife, Sister Wendy Nelson, a warm welcome "home" during the Pacific Ministry Tour.
"There's something about the islands, the people, their warmth, their love, their love of the Lord," said Sister Nelson. "So, they welcome you in ways that you've never been welcomed before."
Having visited the islands since 1976, President Nelson said in a Church News video that he knows generations of the members there. Being greeted by them again was "really quite a thrill," he said.
The prophet also had a message of love he desired to send Latter-day Saints in the Pacific.
"We wanted to say to the people that we love them. We're glad you're members of the Church. We're glad you love the Lord. And we just want to be with you."
