Former mission presidents and other general Church leaders who recently died

Charlene Wight Sorenson, 90, who served as matron of the Los Angeles California Temple from 1998-2001, as well as with her husband, Nile Alma Sorenson, as he presided over the Denver Colorado Mission from 1987-1990, and the Los Angeles Temple Visitor Center from 1996-1998, died on Oct. 19, 2018, in Santa Ana, California.

Eran Abegg Call, 88, who presided over the Mexico Mexico City Mission from 1970-1973, the Mexico Missionary Training Center from 1995-1996, and the Monterrey México Temple from 2002-2005, and served as a General Authority Seventy from 1997-2000, died on Oct. 29, 2018, in Provo, Utah.

Frank Fredrick Dixon, 85, who presided over the Las Vegas Nevada Temple from 2003-2006, died on Nov. 30, 2018, in Ivins, Utah.

Robert Thomas Ferguson, 87, who served on the Young Men general board from 1984-1990, presided over the Arkansas Littlerock Mission from 1990-1993, and served as the second counselor of the Salt Lake Temple presidency from 2004-2005, died on Dec. 5, 2018, in Holladay, Utah.

Marc Sahy, 59, who presided over the Côte d'Ivoire Abidjan Mission from 2014-2017, died on Dec. 11, 2018, in Treichville, Côte d'Ivoire.

Vivian Beverly Hansen Mitchell, 97, a founding Dean of Nursing at Brigham Young University, died on Dec. 25, 2018, in Salt Lake City.

Eldon D. Olsen, 78, who presided over the California San Diego Mission from 2002 to 2005, died on Dec. 27, 2018, in Corvallis, Oregon.
