Elder James E. Faust of the Council of the Twelve created the Cape Coast Ghana Stake, which includes the Ashanti Road, Assin-Foso, Moree, Mpintsin, Ola University, Sekondi, and Takoradi wards, and the Chapel Hill, Mankessim, Nuamakrom, and Sofokrom branches.Elder Alexander B. Morrison of the Seventy created the Sugar Hill Georgia Stake, which includes the Athens 1st, Athens 2nd, Gainsville, Lawrenceville 1st, and Lawrenceville 2nd wards, and the Commerce, Dahlonega, Elberton, Sugarhill, and Toccoa branches.
