New general presidency is called for Young Women organization

Susan W. Tanner of Provo, Utah, was sustained Saturday, Oct. 5, as Young Women general president. Sister Tanner of the Edgemont 20th Ward, Provo Utah Edgemont Stake, was serving on the Relief Society general board at the time of her call.

Sustained as first and second counselors, respectively, were Julie B. Beck of Alpine, Utah; and Elaine S. Dalton of Salt Lake City.

Released as Young Women general president was Margaret D. Nadauld, along with her counselors, Carol B. Thomas and Sharon G. Larsen. They had served together as the Young Women general presidency since Oct. 4, 1997.

Susan Winder Tanner has traveled throughout the world with her husband, John S. Tanner, in connection with his international assignments as a university professor. She is a former stake Relief Society counselor, stake Primary counselor, stake Young Women president, ward Primary president and ward Young Women president. She and her husband have five children and three grandchildren.

Julie Bangerter Beck of the Alpine 1st Ward, Alpine Utah North Stake, was serving on the Young Women general board at the time of her call. She is a former ward Young Women president and adviser, ward Primary president, stake Relief Society counselor, and ward Relief Society counselor and teacher. She also served with her husband, Ramon P. Beck, when he served as a branch president at the Missionary Training Center. As a young girl, she lived in Brazil for five years. She and her husband have three children and three grandchildren.

Elaine Schwartz Dalton of the Mount Olympus 2nd Ward, Salt Lake Mt. Olympus Stake, most recently served on the Young Women general board. She is also a former adviser to Relief Societies in three young single adult wards, stake Young Women president, counselor and adviser, and Relief Society teacher. She and her husband, Stephen E. Dalton, have six children and three grandchildren.
