PORTLAND, Ore. — Members here gathered April 14 for "LDS Family Night" with the Portland Trail Blazers professional basketball team. A youth choir sang the "Star Spangled Banner" and performed at halftime. Shawn Bradley, a member of the Church who played with the opposing team, the Dallas Mavericks, came out to the LDS crowd after the game to speak of the importance of the Church in his life.
The event, which was sponsored by the BYU Management Society, also included full-time missionaries handing out Church videos and family history information.
