This is a “remarkable inflection point” in the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, said Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
The Church now has 315 temples that are announced, dedicated or under construction.
This time is an opportunity to “focus on what matters most in relationship to the temple,” said Elder Bednar.
This Church News video titled “No Small Temples” features Elder Bednar talking about the “house of the Lord.”
“I think we routinely talk about the temple,” he explained. “I don’t think we talk nearly as much about the covenants and ordinances. And I don’t think we should even talk about the covenants and ordinances separate from and apart from the Savior.”
Elder Bednar said he sometimes hears people say, “Oh, that’s a small temple.”
“There is no such thing as a small temple — they are just temples. There’s no such thing as small covenants or small ordinances.”
