Elder David B. Haight, who underwent two abdominal surgeries Jan 16 and 17, was improving and would likely be moved from intensive care to a private room Jan. 26, said Don Lefevre of the Church Public Communication Department.
The apostle was sitting up with assistance, and was listed "serious but stable" condition at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Elder Haight, 82, underwent surgery Jan. 16 to repair an abdominal aortic aneurysm. The next day Elder Haight went back into surgery to have blood clots removed.
