LDS greeted in Bahrain

While in Bahrain for annual Church leadership meetings, four members were graciously received by the ruler of Bahrain and the island nation's Minister of Information.

The ruler, The Emir Shaikh Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, and the Minister of Information, Tariq A. Almoayed, met with Church members Sidney R. and Joyce Henderson and Joseph B. and Paula Platt. The meeting took place at the Al Rifaa Palace.Priesthood leaders and their wives living in the Middle East met for two days in Bahrain, an island off the Arabian coast.

The Emir extended a warm welcome to the LDS leaders visiting the island nation for the weekend.

LDS leaders were treated also to an address from the Minister of Information during an evening banquet. He spoke on the bonds of brotherhood that link all mankind and the common desire of good men and women to live in peace.

Subjects addressed during the conference's training sessions were strengthening priesthood quorums through committees and more effective home teaching. Sisters emphasized the importance of visiting teaching and compassionate service to the far-flung expatriate members living in the Middle East.
