The callings of six new mission presidents have been announced by the First Presidency.
They will be assigned to specific missions later and, along with their wives, will assume their responsibilities about July 1. The mission presidents are:Edmond Preston Hyatt, 65, Hillcrest 6th Ward, Orem Utah Hillcrest Stake; former Young Men general board member, stake president's counselor, high councilor, Young Men stake superintendent, and bishop's counselor; president of a ceramic engineering consulting and equipment company; received bachelor's degree from Missouri School of Mines in 1949, master's degree from Missouri School of Mines in 1950, and doctorate from University of Utah in 1956; born in Joliet, Ill., a son of Clarence Edmund and Belle Alberta Edmonds Hyatt; married Ora Mae Sorensen; 10 children. She is a ward Relief Society president, former ward Primary president, and seminary teacher; born in Taylor, Texas, a daughter of Edward and Adeline Ernestine Drueger Sorensen.
