Two newly sustained members of the Seventy, Elders Kenneth Johnson and Clinton L. Cutler, expressed love for God, their families and the gospel during the priesthood session Saturday evening.
"Young men, make sure that every invitation you extend and every invitation you receive is an invitation to come unto Christ," Elder Johnson, a resident of Norwich, England, counseled. He said he and his wife have a son, adding: "The way he has lived has caused me to come unto Christ. Young men, you have a great power to do that."
He said that as sacred as his new calling is, more sacred to him are the gospel covenants he has made "for they seal to me those things most precious and sacred in my life."
Elder Cutler, president of the Washington Seattle Mission, told of taking "a stroll down memory lane" during which he had enumerated many miracles he has witnessed.
"My thoughts go in gratitude to that loving Father, the Father of us all, who stands with arms outstretched, cheering us on, begging us to come home, and his beloved Son and our Savior."
Elder Cutler referred to the testimony he heard during the previous week of three recent converts who said they have a road map and pattern to follow contained in the Book of Mormon, "a blueprint to bring them safely home."
"I join with them in this testimony," he declared.
