Community service was the focus of the recent women's conference for the Relief Society of the Morgan Hills California Stake.
The conference culminated a quilt-making project that began in January. In the project, nearly 300 women from the 11 wards throughout South San Jose, Morgan Hill, Gilroy and Hollister made 200 quilts for local charitable organizations.Forty of the quilts were completed during the four-hour conference, entitled "Snuggle Me Warm . . . with Service and Love."
"We never imagined we'd have 200," said Nan Peery, stake Relief Society president. She explained during the presentation of the quilts at the conclusion of the conference, "Much love and time has gone into these quilts. We hope love will be felt out of them."
The 40 quilts were presented to Marge Albaugh, who is executive director of the St. Joseph's Family Center.
