The First Presidency has announced the call of six more mission presidents. The new presidents and their wives will be assigned to a specific mission later and will begin their service about July 1. Those called are:
James A. Aulestia, 49, Alta View 4th Ward, Sandy Utah Alta View Stake; gospel doctrine teacher, former mission president's counselor, high councilor, stake mission president, director of name extraction program, and seminary instructor; manager of international architecture for Church; earned degree in architectural engineering in Latin America; born in Ecuador, a son of Victor F. and Hilda D. Trivino Aulestia; married Julietta Pacheco, two children. She is a ward Relief Society board member, former Relief Society teacher, Primary teacher, and nursery leader; born in Ecuador, a daughter of Luis H. and Berta O. Jimenes Pacheco.Bradley D. Foster, 42, Clark Ward, Ririe Idaho Stake; former stake president, high councilor, stake mission president, and elders quorum president; served in Texas South Mission, 1968-70; president and co-owner of agricultural company; attended Ricks College; born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, a son of Dewain C. and Melba Leone Sauer Foster; married Sharol Lyn Anderson, four children. She is a stake Young Women president, former stake Young Women president's counselor, ward Young Women president, cultural arts chairman, Primary president and chorister, Relief Society president's counselor, ward organist and music chairman; received associate degree from Ricks College; born in Rigby, Idaho, a daughter of Leonal Howard and Helen Fern Taylor Anderson. J. Michael Gottfredson, 54, Monument Park 3rd Ward, Salt Lake Foothill Stake; former stake president, high councilor, bishop, stake seventies president, and elders quorum president; served in West Central States Mission, 1958-60; attorney; received juris doctorate degree from the University of Utah and master's degree from New York University; born in Circleville, Utah, a son of Harold and Allie Pearl Whittaker Gottfredson; married Janice Tebbs, seven children. She is a ward Relief Society president's counselor, former ward Primary president's counselor, ward Young Women's counselor, and teacher ; attended BYU; born in Panguitch, Utah, a daughter of Daniel Asay and Nedra Henrie Tebbs. C. Kent Peterson, 53, Mt. Jordan 5th Ward, Sandy Utah Stake; Young Men president's counselor; former high priest group leader, bishop, high councilor, and elders quorum president; served in Northern Far East mission, 1963-65; director of clinical services at Missionary Training Center; received bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Utah; born in Pocatello, Idaho, a son of Clifton G. and Frances Ladora Peterson; married Sandra Arnold, three children. She is a ward spiritual living teacher, ward oganist and music chairman, former stake Relief Society music chairman, Relief Society teacher, and stake and ward music chairman; piano instructor and concert pianist; received bachelor's degree from the University of Utah and master's degree from BYU; born in York, Pa., a daughter of Richard A.and Mary Arnold. L. Stephen Richards Jr., 65, Monument Park 15th Ward, Salt Lake Monument Park Stake; sealer at Salt Lake Temple, former stake president's counselor, high councilor, elders quorum president, ward Young Men president, ward family history consultant, and branch president; served in Eastern Canadian Mission, 1946-48; cardiovascular thoracic surgeon; received bachelor's degree from Occidental College, medical degree from the University of Iowa, and attended the University of Minnesota for specialty training; born in San Francisco, Calif., a son of Lynn Stephen and Lucille Janette Covey Richards; married Annette Parkinson Nibley, seven children. Wilson, 50, Gilroy 1st Ward, Morgan Hill California Stake; high priest first assistant, former stake president's counselor, high councilor, bishop's counselor, high priest group leader, Young Men president and adviser, and stake executive secretary; served in Northern Far East mission, 1961-64; Church Educational System coordinator and institute instructor; received bachelor's and master's degrees from BYU; born in Lovell, Wyo., a son of Richard Omer and Joyce Whitney Wilson; married Kathleen Williams, seven children.
