Andrew Wayne Peterson, 44, has been called as a vice president of Sigma Gamma Chi, the Church's fraternity for college men. He is a Primary teacher in the Monument Park 2nd Ward, Salt Lake Monument Park North Stake; former president of the Mexico Merida Mission, stake president and counselor, stake mission president, ward Young Men president and counselor in a bishopric; dentist; married to Christine Ann Swensen.
He is replacing former Sigma Gamma Chi vice president John S. Boyden Jr., who has been called as executive secretary of the Latter-day Saint Student Association (LDSSA).Sigma Gamma Chi has approximately 50 active chapters on 39 campuses throughout the United States. About 10,700 college men have participated in the fraternity since it was organized in 1967.
