BYU seeks plays written by women for annual contest

Plays written by women are eligible to win $500 from the William P. and Arlene R. Lewis Playwriting Contest for Women, sponsored by the Brigham Young University Department of Theatre and Film.

All female playwrights currently enrolled at or associated with a college or university are eligible to submit plays for this annual contest.Plays must be completely original, full-length, unpublished and not professionally produced. The plays must also be free of royalty and copyright restrictions.

Plays must be postmarked beginning Feb. 10 and ending Feb. 20 and sent to the BYU Department of Theatre and Film, D-581 HFAC, Provo, Utah 84602. The winner will be announced in late March or early April at a Writers Forum in BYU's Nelke Theatre.
