Stake presidents and bishops should ensure that approved procedures are followed in sustaining and ordaining those being presented to receive offices in the Aaronic Priesthood.
Instructions regarding ordinations in the Aaronic Priesthood are found in the 1989 General Handbook of Instructions (30943), page 4-1, and the Aaronic Priesthood Leadership Handbook (34571), page 5. The ordaining of young men in priesthood meeting first and then ratifying the ordination in the sacrament meeting afterwards is not approved.
