Two LDS events among top 100 attractions

The Christmas lights on Temple Square and the Manti Mormon Miracle Pageant have been selected as two of the "Top 100 Events in North America" by the American Bus Association.

Each holiday season, thousands visit Temple Square in Salt Lake City to see the 250,000 lights decorating the lawns, bushes and trees on the grounds surrounding the Salt Lake Temple. The Manti Pageant this year attracted more than 114,000 visitors over an eight-day run. Depicting the birth and growth of the restored Church, the performance is held annually in July on the south side of the Manti (Utah) Temple.

The American Bus Association has selected the top 100 events annually since 1982. Hundreds of nominations are received each year, and judging is based on reputation, theme, an event's appeal, attendance and accessibility to motorcoach group travel. Showcased with the events are a diversity of themes, from music to food and flowers to heritage.
