Joanne B. Doxey, a former member of the Relief Society general presidency, has been called to serve as director of hosting for the Church Office Building and the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.
Sister Doxey succeeds Mary Lou Rawlings, who has served for the past three years.Barbara Durham Hatch has been called as first assistant, and Pat J. Liljenquist as second assistant.
The new hosting director will oversee the activities of some 350 volunteer hostesses and hosting couples who are Church-service missionaries and who staff information desks and take visitors on tours of the two buildings.
Sister Doxey is a native of Salt Lake City and holds degrees in child development and interior design from the University of Utah. She served six years in the general presidency of the Relief Society and three years on the general board of the Primary. She also served on a ward and stake level in the Relief Society, Primary and Young Women, and is a former national officer of Lamba Delta Sigma. She and her husband, David W. Doxey, are parents of eight children.
