Four sisters called on full-time missions will enter the Brazil Missionary Training Center on the same day, about the first of January. They will all serve in Brazilian missions.
The sisters - Maria, Vandinete, Veronica and Simone Rodrigues Da Cunha - are daughters of Simplicio and Maria De Lourdes Da Cunha. They will serve in the following missions: Maria, Brazil Curitiba; Vandinete, Brazil Recife South; Veronica, Brazil Salvador; and Simone, Brazil Porte Alegre South. The sisters were baptized in 1981. Although their father, a retired military officer, is not a member, the seven sisters in the family are missionary-minded. Two have already completed full-time missions and when the current four complete their missions, six of the seven will be returned missionaries.
They recently moved to the Parque Ouro Fino Ward, Sorocaba Brazil Stake.
"These sisters have a great desire to serve a full-time mission," said stake Pres. Marcos A. C. Prieto.
He said that the stake recently held a meeting for all missionary-aged youth, inviting them to attend a missionary preparation class. The Da Cunha sisters were among those who accepted the invitation.
"While attending this class, they all felt a desire to serve a mission, so they decided to go all together at the same time," he told the Church News.
Pres. Prieto said the sisters decided that one sister, who has already filled a mission, would stay at home to care for their elderly parents so the other sisters could go.
