Nell Christine Hendricks Dahle, 96, believed to be the last surviving child of a Mormon Battalion member, died Nov. 5, 1993, in Logan.
Her father, William Dorris Hendricks, was 16 when he signed up for the battalion in 1846. His parents had joined the Church when he was 6.He was in his late 60s when Nell and her sister, Fern, were born to him and his wife, Christine Olsen Hendricks. Nell was 12 and Fern 9 when their father died in 1909. (See Church News, July 13, 1986.)
Sister Dahle was preceded in death by her husband, John LaVere Dahle, whom she married Dec. 22, 1919, in Pocatello, Idaho. (The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple.) They were the parents of five children.
