The First Presidency has announced the calls of eight more mission presidents. The new presidents and their wives will be assigned to specific missions later and will begin their service about July 1. Those called are:
Roger C. Butterfield, 50, South Jordan Ridgecrest Ward, South Jordan Utah Stake; stake president, former stake president's counselor, high councilor, stake mission president, bishop, elders quorum president, and early morning seminary teacher; served in North Central States Mission, 1961-63; automobile dealer; earned bachelor's degree from Utah State University; born in Murray, Utah, a son of Elias Christian and Maxine Sargent Butterfield; married Sue Jones, eight children. She is a Relief Society teacher, former stake Primary president, Relief Society teacher, Young Women adviser, ward Primary president and teacher, and Cub Scout den leader; attended Utah State University; born in Murray, Utah, a daughter of Ivan Leroy and Gladys Adora Ostler Jones.Craig A. Hill, 40, Las Americas Branch, Guatemala City Guatemala Stake; branch president's counselor, former area president's executive secretary, mission president's counselor, high councilor, stake clerk, branch president, elders quorum president, early morning seminary teacher, and Sunday School teacher; served in Colombia Mission, 1972-74; director of temporal affairs for the Church in Central America; earned bachelor's degree from Weber State University; born in Ogden, Utah, a son of Harvey Ray and Wynona Cummings Hill; married Judy Ann Marker, two children. She is a Primary president's counselor, former Relief Society president's counselor, Young Women president, counselor and teacher,and Primary music leader; part-time tutor; attended Weber State University; born in Ogden, Utah, a daughter of James Lynn and Phyllis Maddock Marker.
John Hoybjerg, 41, American Falls 3rd Ward, American Falls Idaho Stake; Sunday School teacher, former stake president, high councilor, branch executive secretary, ward Young Men president, and Young Adult branch president; served in Philippines Mission, 1971-73; vice president and general manager of agri-business company; earned bachelor's degree from BYU; born in Reno, Nev., a son of Knud Carl Johan and Louise Burchall Hausted Hoybjerg; married Valerie Lou Christiansen, four children. She is a ward Young Women president, former stake Relief Society board member, stake Primary president's counselor, Relief Society homemaking chairman, Sunday School teacher, Young Women adviser, Cub Scout den leader, and nursery leader; historical archeological researcher; attended Ricks College and BYU; born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, a daughter of Jim and Louetta Robison Christiansen.
Wm. Rolfe Kerr, 57, Edgemont 14th Ward, Provo Utah Edgemont Stake; high councilor, former Sunday School General Board member, stake president, high councilor, bishop's counselor, high priests group leader, and Sunday School teacher; served in British Mission, 1956-58; Utah Commissioner of Higher Education; earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Utah State University, doctorate from the University of Utah; born in Tremonton, Utah, a son of Clifton G.M. and Irene Pack Kerr; married Janeil Raybould, six children. Scott D. Livingston, 41, Coppell Ward, Lewisville Texas Stake; high councilor, former high councilor, bishop and counselor, high priests group leader, and Scoutmaster; served in the West Spanish American and California East missions, 1970-72; sales manager; earned bachelor's degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University; born in Craig, Colo., a son of Lewis R. and Irene Mary Broadbent Livingston; married LaRae Holbrook, four children. John R. Morrey, 62, Seneca Ward, Seneca Maryland Stake; stake missionary and Sunday School teacher, former stake president, high councilor, stake Young Men president, stake missionary, bishop and counselor, ward executive secretary, and seminary teacher; served in French Mission, 1949-51; staff scientist at the Battelle Memorial Institute; earned bachelor's degree from BYU and doctorate from the University of Utah; born in Joseph, Utah, a son of John Eldon and Vera Johanna Mortensen Morrey; married Barbara Mortensen, five children. Thomas F. Rogers, 59, Oak Hills 7th Ward, Provo Utah Oak Hills Stake; Sunday School teacher, former high councilor, bishop's counselor, branch president, elders quorum president, and Sunday School president; served in East/North German Mission, 1955-58; professor of Russian at BYU; earned bachelor's degree from the University of Utah, master's degree from Yale University, and doctorate from Georgetown University; born in Salt Lake City, Utah, a son of William Alma and Lucille Collett Rogers; married Merriam Joyce Dickson, seven children.
