For the fifth consecutive year, Brigham Young University has been named to the 1993 Honor Roll sponsored by the John Templeton Foundation, honoring colleges and universities that promote high integrity as well as education.
BYU was one of 111 U.S. schools chosen from more than 900 candidates nominated by school presidents and development directors from the nation's nearly 1,500 accredited four-year institutions. John M. Templeton, investment adviser and philanthropist, created the Templeton Foundation.Of the 111 schools honored in 1993, 73 are church-affiliated, 37 are private institutions and one is a public institution.
