Elder Featherstone called to Young Men presidency

Elder Vaughn J Featherstone of the Seventy has been called as second counselor in the Young Men general presidency, effective Aug. 15, the First Presidency announced this week.

He succeeds Elder L. Lionel Kendrick, also a member of the Seventy. Elder Featherstone will serve with Elder Jack H Goaslind and Elder Stephen D. Nadauld in the Young Men presidency.Elder Featherstone, currently president of the Philippines/Micronesia Area, previously served as Young Men general president.

As a member of the Seventy he has served in the presidencies of the North America Northwest Area, Utah South Area, North America Southeast Area and North America Southwest Area.

Before being called to the First Quorum of the Seventy on Oct. 1, 1976, he served four years as second counselor in the Presiding Bishopric. He has also served as president of the Texas San Antonio Mission and has been a member of the Boy Scouts of America National Executive Board.
