The First Presidency announced this week that the temple to be located in American Fork, Utah, will be named the Mt. Timpanogos Utah Temple.
The site for the temple is on a 20-acre site at 900 East and 700 North, across the street east of the State Development Center. This site is part of a larger parcel of land the Church owns and which once served as a welfare farm.Groundbreaking and the start of construction will begin after the completion of architectural drawings and required government approvals.
The temple was announced by President Gordon B. Hinckley in general conference on Oct. 3, 1992.
