Elder L. Lionel Kendrick, 61, Eagle Gate 2nd Ward, Salt Lake Eagle Gate Stake, called as president of the Dallas Texas Temple, succeeding Pres. Veigh J. Nielson. His wife, Myrtis Noble Kendrick, will serve as temple matron. Pres. Kendrick is a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy. He is second counselor in the Young Men general presidency and former president of the Philippines/Micronesia Area. Before he was called as a General Authority he served as president of the Florida Tampa Mission, regional representative and stake president. A former professor of health education and director of the regional training center at East Carolina University, he received bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in education from Louisiana State University. He was born in Baton Rouge, La., to Bonnie Delen and Edna Campbell Forbes Kendrick. Sister Kendrick is a former counselor in Young Women and Primary, seminary teacher and Relief Society instructor. She was born in Pride, La., to Willard J. and Tressie Leon Aucoin Noble.

Arne L. and Gunnel Hedberg enjoy visiting historic Orebro, Sweden, where many years ago her grandfather constructed the bridge in front of the castle. The next time they visit this community, however, it will be as leaders in the Sweden Stockholm Mission, over which Pres. Hedberg will preside.
