Betty Jo N. Jepsen, first counselor in the Primary general presidency, has been appointed to serve on the National Boy Scout Committee of the Boy Scouts of America. She began her service on the committee May 20 at the annual Boy Scouts of America National Meetings in St. Louis, Mo. The appointment is for an unspecified length of time.
"Boy Scouts of America is an organization that is worthy of service from volunteers who believe in duty to God and country," she said. "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has respect for Boy Scouts of America because of the values both organizations espouse. The Church uses Boy Scouts of America to support gospel principles and to teach boys how to live these principles."
