In compliance with the Savior's mandate to preach the gospel unto every creature in all nations, 136 new mission presidents began their service about July 1 in the far reaches of the world.
This year, new mission presidents were called to serve in 46 headquarters countries, as shown on the map above. Missionaries are serving in 145 countries throughout the world.The new mission presidents come from 22 countries, including 98 from the United States and Canada, 26 from Latin American countries, and 12 from other lands.
During their three years of service, the mission presidents will have a direct influence over missionaries, missionaries' families, converts, and relatives and children of converts. The influence of each president is estimated to reach upwards of a quarter of a million people.
