Interest in art event is growing

Interest by Latter-day Saint artists in the Third International Art Competition sponsored by the Museum of Church History and Art is growing daily, judging from the number of entry requests, reported Glen M. Leonard, museum director.

As of mid-June, nearly 1,300 entry forms have been mailed, with 800 going to those who entered the second competition in 1991, and approximately 500 to new entrants. Entry forms must be returned to the museum before Nov. 17, 1993, with a slide or a photograph of the art. Artists must have completed the work since Jan. 1, 1991, and are not to send original art unless they are notified. The exhibit of the selected art will open March 26, 1994, with Sept. 5, 1994, set as the closing date.

Entry forms or further information can be acquired by writing to the museum at 45 N. West Temple Street, Salt Lake City, Utah 84150, or by calling (801) 240-4615.
