President Benson receives greetings on 94th birthday

President Ezra Taft Benson commemorated his 94th birthday Wednesday, Aug. 4, surrounded by family members and General Authority colleagues.

At an open house Wednesday morning in his apartment, President Benson received birthday greetings from his counselors, President Gordon B. Hinckley and President Thomas S. Monson, and members of the Council of the Twelve.President Benson spent that evening with members of his family who gathered in his apartment to celebrate his birthday.

He was born Aug. 4, 1899, to George T. and Sarah Dunkley Benson at Whitney, Idaho. He married Flora Amussen Benson on Sept. 10, 1926; she died Aug. 14, 1992. They are parents of two sons and four daughters, and have 18 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren.
