The First Presidency has announced the calling of four new members of the Young Women General Board. Three board members - Camille Fronk, Janet D. Gough and Marie K. Hafen - have been released.
The new board members are:Sharon G. Larsen, Farmington 9th Ward, Farmington Utah South Stake; homemaker; former Young Women general board member, stake and ward Relief Society president, stake Young Women president, gospel doctrine teacher, Young Women adviser, Sunday School chorister. PTA president and a member of the Council for Infants, Youth and Teenagers in Davis County. Married to Ralph T. Larsen.
Shannon F. Christiansen, Parleys 1st Ward, Salt Lake Parleys Stake; homemaker; former stake Primary secretary, Primary president, Relief Society counselor, Laurel adviser, Mia Maid adviser, and Beehive adviser. She is involved in local PTA activities. Married to Robert M. Christiansen.
Joann Shields, Fourth Ward, Salt Lake Liberty Stake; attorney; former Relief Society and Young Women president, Sunday School teacher, and missionary in Canada Montreal Mission. She is chairwoman for the Women Lawyers of Utah Committee on Domestic Violence, and, as a member of the Utah Legislative Council on Domestic Violence, is assisting in drafting proposed legislation to protect abuse victims. She also provides free legal work for indigent clients, is a member of the Utah Opera Guild and is a trial judge in moot court and mock trial competitions for university, high school and junior high school students.
Anne G. Wirthlin, Monument Park 17th Ward, Salt Lake Monument Park North Stake; homemaker; former Relief Society and Primary president, Young Women counselor and Mia Maid teacher, and missionary in Germany Frankfurt Mission. She has served on PTA boards. Married to David B. Wirthlin.
