Women of the Church 18 years of age and older are invited to attend a General Relief Society Meeting Saturday, Sept. 25, which will originate from the Tabernacle on Temple Square at 6 p.m. (MDT).
According to a letter to priesthood leaders from President Howard W. Hunter of the Council of the Twelve, "What has formerly been an annual September `General Women's Meeting' will now be held for Relief Society sisters only."A General Young Women meeting will be held March 26, 1994, in conjunction with April general conference. To that meeting, also to be held in the Tabernacle, will be invited all young women ages 12 to 18, and the Young Women presidencies and advisers.
Speakers for the General Relief Society Meeting will include a member of the Council of the Twelve, along with the Relief Society general presidency. The meeting will be telecast live over the Church's satellite network to more than 3,000 meetinghouses in the United States, Canada, Dominican Republic, Haiti, West Indies and Puerto Rico.
Relief Society sisters are encouraged to invite less-active and non-member friends to the telecast.
The meeting will be rebroadcast the same evening at 8 p.m. (MDT) in the Utah area on KBYU-TV.
