Ada Strong Van Dam, 85, the first matron of the Jordan River Temple and a former member of the Primary general board, died Sept. 11, 1993, in Salt Lake City.
She was matron of the Jordan River Temple while her husband, Donovan H. Van Dam, was temple president from 1980-1985. She served with her husband when he presided over the Netherlands Mission from 1952-1956, and was a member of the Primary general board from 1956-1964. She and her husband served as Temple Square guides.
