San Francisco 49ers quarterback Steve Young was named to the Associated Press All-Pro first team, it was announced Jan. 3. The former BYU all-American also became the first National Football League quarterback to win three consecutive passing titles. He had a passing efficiency rating during the regular season of 101.5.
Young, a member of the Edgemont 20th Ward, Provo Utah Edgemont Stake, led San Francisco to the championship of the Western Division of the National Football Conference and into the NFL playoffs with a 10-6 record.Last season, his first as the 49ers' full-time starting quarterback, Young was voted the Associated Press Most Valuable Player.
