A new television documentary profiling the Church is being made available to libraries and other organizations around the United States.
The 28-minute program, "A Profile of Faith," examines Latter-day Saints in nations as diverse as Mexico, Australia, South Africa and Brazil. It addresses a wide range of topics including Church doctrine and organization, Christian service, health practices, lay ministry and Church scriptures, including the Bible and the Book of Mormon.Central to the production is Church members' expression of their belief in Jesus Christ as the Savior and Exemplar for mankind.
One particularly important theme of the documentary is the Church's emphasis on rearing successful families. As shown by Latter-day Saints in England and South Africa, such family cohesion is developed through a commitment to common values and activities like family home evening.
Also discussed is the LDS view of the eternal nature of the family, reflected in the Church's construction of temples worldwide, where faithful Church members are married for time and all eternity.
