Church News: Question of the week

What professional sports event in Salt Lake City was delayed because of the priesthood session of the 1971 April General Conference?

(Answer on page 12)

Here's answer to week's question

(From page 2)

In their first year in Salt Lake City, the Utah Stars of the now-defunct American Basketball Association had a playoff game in April 1971 against the Texas Chaparrals scheduled for the Saturday night of general conference. Rather than compete head-to-head with the priesthood session, which began at 7 p.m., the basketball game, to be played across the street from Temple Square in the Salt Palace, was moved back to 9:15 p.m. The Stars went on to win the ABA championship that season.
