Sometimes we never really know how much children understand. For instance, two years ago my 8-year-old son, Kevin, was looking at an old photograph of me and his older brother, George, who was then age 2, opening a Christmas present.
He seemed to be wondering where he was and why he wasn't in the picture.I said, "You were born five days after Christmas."
He quickly added 25 and 5 and with great glee announced, "I was born on my birthday!"
