The first language, other than English, into which the Book of Mormon was translated was Danish in 1851. The book was translated in Copenhagen, Denmark, the headquarters of the Scandinavian Mission. From 1850 to 1930, 26,656 people were baptized in Denmark.

By the end of 1852, the Book of Mormon also had been translated into German, French, Italian and Welsh.
