I would like to tell how I can be a peacemaker at home and among my friends. I think that I can bring peace to others by being helpful, thoughtful, obedient and loving.
Through being helpful at home I can help bring peace to my family. I can be helpful at home by doing chores around the house. I can help set the table before supper and help my parents clean up afterward. I can be a peacemaker to my sister, Kim, by helping her learn how to play my computer games. I can be helpful to my friends too. I can be helpful to my friends at Church and at school by being a good example. I can bring peace to my teachers by paying attention. By choosing the right and being a good example, I can help my friends learn how to feel peace.Be being thoughtful, I can be a peacemaker too. When my friend, Mikey, was in the hospital once, I called him on the phone to see how he was feeling. I can help others feel peace by letting them know that I am their friend. Whenever I see my friends I can wave to them or say hello.
My brother, Odell, is now serving a mission in Johannesburg, South Africa. To me, he is a good example of being a peacemaker. I can show thoughtfulness by sending him lots of letters and by keeping him in my prayers each day.
Another way that I can help bring peace to others is by being obedient. At Church, I can show obedience by being reverent, by listening to my teachers and by working hard on my Primary assignments. At my last Primary program, I had a solo part in the song "Follow the Prophet." After the program, everyone seemed happy and peaceful. Brother Smith and others told me how good it made them feel to hear me sing about the prophet Noah. I can be a peacemaker at school by following the rules. When I am obedient at home my parents feel happy and peaceful. I can be a peacemaker by watching good TV shows and movies with good ratings, and by keeping the Word of Wisdom.
I know that I can help others feel peace by being loving to them. I can show good sportsmanship by saying "good game" to my classmates after a soccer game at school. When I bear my testimony I am being a peacemaker. I can tell my family and friends how much I love them and share the good things that happen to me. At home I can be loving by giving hugs to my family everyday. I hug my parents before I go to school, when they pick me up at the bus stop and when they get home from work.
I love being a peacemaker. By doing the things that please Heavenly Father, I can help others feel peace. I hope that I will learn other ways that I can be a peacemaker at home and among my friends.
