The Preston England Temple, as shown in architect's rendering released this week by the First Presidency, will be of modern classical design, with an exterior finish of light-colored European granite.
The temple is to be located on a 13-acre site near Preston in the northwest of England. Ground was broken for the temple June 12. Work is nearly completed for laying underground utilities and building roads at the site. Some landscaping and perimeter fencing also have been done. Construction on the temple is expected to begin in early summer of 1995, and take two to 21/2 years to complete. See page 3.
