Young Women presidency

Bonnie Dansie Parkin was sustained Saturday, Oct. 1, as second counselor in the Young Women general presidency. She succeeds Patricia P. Pinegar, who was sustained the same day as Primary general president.

Bonnie Dansie Parkin, born in Murray, Utah, was reared in Herriman, Utah. At the time of her call to the Young Women general presidency, she had been serving on the Relief Society general board, to which she was called in 1990. She previously served in a stake Young Women presidency and ward Relief Society and Primary presidencies, as well as being a Sunday School teacher. Sister Parkin has been active in PTA and once served as a page on the floor of the Utah Senate.She and her husband, James L. Parkin, have four children. They are members of the Parleys 3rd Ward, Salt Lake Parleys Stake.
