Temple Square was unusually crowded Sunday afternoon, filled with many waiting in long lines eager to get inside the Tabernacle for the concluding session of the historic conference. The cool fall air kept the temperature comfortable during the afternoon.

Those fortunate enough to get inside squeezed snugly together on the benches as ushers continued to bring in small groups to fill the last available spaces. Five minutes before the session began, which was conducted by President Thomas S. Monson, everyone stood in unison as the First Presidency walked onto the stand. As they did so, faint strains of "We Thank Thee, O God, For a Prophet" filtered down from the balcony. Many more voices quickly joined the chorus, which by then was softly accompanied by the organ. As the first verse was sung in its entirety, it was obvious many were touched emotionally, including many of the youth. Throughout the session, the pleasant spirit persisted.

Music was provided by the Tabernacle Choir. Prayers were offered by Elder James M. Paramore and Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Seventy.
