To help the library function smoothly, the ward or meetinghouse librarian should limit the distribution of library keys. Keeping track of keys will protect expensive library materials and equipment, permit wider library use, and help librarians serve more effectively.
The following members should receive a key to the library: librarians, bishoprics, stake presidencies and custodians. A building key should also be given to meetinghouse, ward and other librarians; seminary and institute teachers holding classes in the building may also receive keys as needed.
