LDS specials will air during holiday season

Four Christmas specials produced by the Church will air on the Faith & Values Channel (VISN) during the holiday season.

The four specials, including "Mr. Krueger's Christmas," "A Marvelous Work and a Wonder," "A Christmas Child," and the "The Other Wise Man," will air between Dec. 7-26, said Don Russell of the Church's Public Affairs Department."We're confident that each of these specials will appeal to viewers of all faiths," Brother Russell added.

"A Marvelous Work and a Wonder" is a 60-minute special program focusing on the legacy of the Prophet Joseph Smith. This program also discusses what has happened since his martyrdom 150 years ago.

"Mr. Krueger's Christmas" is a story about Willy Krueger, a lonely widower portrayed by Jimmy Stewart, who longs to share Christmas once again with his family and friends. At the end, he finally fulfills a lifelong dream of conducting the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

"A Christmas Child" features how an airline flight attendant finds the true spirit of Christmas by helping reunite a lost boy with his parents during her unwanted layover on Christmas Eve.

"The Other Wise Man" is an animated 30-minute program that captures the essence of Van Dyke's classic story of Artaban, the other wiseman. Artaban's difficult journey to Bethlehem to see the newborn King takes him far from his planned destination, but much closer to the Savior than expected.
