New stake presidencies

Two new stakes were created Nov. 20 by members of the Seventy.

The Medicine Hat Alberta Stake, which includes the Bow Island, Brooks, Medicine Hat 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th and Rosemary wards, was created by Elder James M. Paramore of the Seventy.Elder Carlos E. Asay of the Seventy created the St. George Utah Morningside Stake, which includes the Bloomington Hills 7th and 9th, and the Morningside 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th wards.

Elsewhere, stakes were reorganized in the Philippines, and in Missouri and Oregon.

MEDICINE HAT ALBERTA STAKE: (Nov. 20, 1994) Created from the Taber Alberta Stake. President - Robert A. Gehmlich, 60, semi-retired; employed part time for Kenco Construction, former stake president's counselor, high councilor, stake mission president, stake Young Men president, and bishop, married Claudia Rae Prince. Counselors - Leo B. Hill, 63, chief executive officer for Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, former high councilor, stake mission president, bishop, ward mission leader, and seminary teacher, married Rose Marie Nelson; Richard A. Van Orman, 46, assistant executive director at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, former Young Men president, Scout leader, and Cub Scout leader, married Karen Anne Bailley.

ST. GEORGE UTAH MORNINGSIDE STAKE: (Nov. 20, 1994) Created from the Bloomington Hills Utah Stake. President - James Grey Larkin, 57, executive for L&L Mechanical, former stake president, high councilor, stake Sunday School president's counselor, bishop, and Young Men president, married Marlene Wright. Counselors - Keith R. Reber, 41, podiatrist, former bishop and counselor, and elders quorum president, married Stephanie Kay Millett; Jerry S. Foote, 42, general contractor, former bishop and counselor, ward clerk, executive secretary, elders quorum president, Young Men president, and priests quorum adviser, married Patricia Ann Triffo.

ILIGAN PHILIPPINES STAKE: (Nov. 6, 1994) President - Emmanuel A. Neo, 40, production operator for Refractories Corporation of the Philippines; succeeding William C. Garife; former stake president's counselor, high councilor, branch president and counselor, branch Sunday School president, and institute teacher, married Girtha Pamesa Estavillo. Counselors - Gabriel P. Gemina Jr., 34, sales manager, former high councilor, elders quorum president, and branch president, married Helen Lacorte Cabillo; Crescencio Cobrito Encabo, 33, senior millwright for National Steel Corporation, former stake Young Men president, bishop's counselor, branch president's counselor, and branch Young Men president, married Pacita Dague Encabo Anggo.

KANSAS CITY MISSOURI STAKE: (Oct. 16, 1994) President - Gordon D. Goodman, 45, owner/operator of Long Term Health Care; succeeding Henry Wayne Kester; former stake president and counselor, high councilor, stake executive secretary, and bishop's counselor, married Lesli Christensen. Counselors - Ferrol L. Truman, 56, human resources manager for U.S. Department of Commerce, former stake president and counselor, high councilor, bishop, branch president, and Scoutmaster, married Jeanette McClellan; Val E. Clay, 42, manager for Miles, Inc., former stake president's counselor, high councilor, bishop, ward executive secretary, elders quorum president's counselor, and gospel doctrine teacher, married Judy Lynne Brammer.

ROSEBURG OREGON STAKE: (Nov. 6, 1994) President - Thales H. Smith Jr., 46, employed by Glide School District; succeeding Mike Anthony Schofield; former stake president's counselor, high councilor, stake executive secretary, bishop and counselor, married Laura Olson. Counselors - Bruce L. Neilsen, 37, delivery driver for United Parcel Service, former high councilor, bishop and counselor, assistant ward clerk, and elders quorum president, married Leedja Ann Zimmerman; Scott D. Lander, 40, owner/manager of Young's Garden and Pet, former stake missionary, bishop and counselor, Sunday School president's counselor, and Sunday School teacher, married Devennie Marie Pulley.

SAN FABIAN PHILIPPINES STAKE: (Oct. 23, 1994) President - Domingo Ferrer Servito, 38, secondary school teacher; succeeding Loreto D. Querimit; former bishop's counselor, married Lourdes Dioquino Manongdo. Counselors - Nilo Bahian Labis, 32, teacher, former stake president's counselor, married Mzaunda Baguio Valdez; Melchor Villagracia Laceste, 30, teacher, former high councilor, bishop, and elders quorum president, married Teresa Tumbaga Rulloda.
