The Museum of Church History and Art is seeking individuals who enjoy working with children to volunteer in the exhibit, "Jesus Once Was a Little Child, a Little Child Like Me."
"This interactive exhibit, designed especially for children, needs lots of adult energy and assistance to be successful," said Jenny Lund, museum educator. "We are looking for people who like to participate in the enactment of the Nativity story, will teach skills like weaving, origami and netting, and will put on a Noah's Ark puppet show."The exhibit, by teaching children about the Savior's childhood, encourages them to follow Him. "There are many wonderful teaching moments in this exhibit," Sister Lund said. "We only need more teachers."
The museum will provide training to help new volunteers assist children in the exhibit.
Volunteers will be assigned to serve one four-hour shift a week. Weekday, evening, Saturday and Sunday shifts are available. Volunteers in this special position will serve through Oct. 15, 1995.
Those interested in applying should call 240-4615 for more information. Interviews are currently being held. The museum is located at 45 N. West Temple Street in Salt Lake City.
