New visitor center directors announced

Nine new directors of visitors centers and Church historic sites have been called by the First Presidency. These new directors are currently being trained at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah, and will begin their two-year terms of service about Feb. 21.

The new leaders and their wives, listed by visitors centers, are:Arizona Temple Visitors Center: William F. Matthews, 70, former mission president, stake president and counselor, bishop and temple ordinance worker; CPA consultant. He and his wife, Dorothy, are members of the Canyon Road Ward, Salt Lake Eagle Gate Stake.

Hill Cumorah Visitors Center: Robert L. Stephenson, 72, former mission president's counselor, high councilor, stake Sunday School president and bishop; part owner of soft water equipment sales company. He and his wife, Ethel, are members of the Valley View 1st Ward, Salt Lake Valley View Stake.

Idaho Falls Temple Visitors Center: R. Keith Olsen, 65, former stake president, high councilor, bishop and counselor; retired farmer. He and his wife, Fay, are members of the Cardston 4th Ward, Cardston Alberta Stake.

Liberty Jail Historic Site: Jack P. Sharp, 58, former stake president, stake mission president, bishop and counselor and ward executive secretary; retired Social Security district manager. He and his wife, Marjorie, are members of the Corvallis 4th Ward, Corvallis Oregon Stake.

Los Angeles Temple Visitors Center: Allen M. Swan, 66, former mission president, regional representative, Wasatch multi-region assistant director of public affairs, bishop; attorney. He and his wife, Verla, are members of the Valley View 8th Ward, Salt Lake Holladay North Stake.

Mexico City Temple Visitors Center: Fernando Victoriano Torrentera, 53, former mission president's counselor, stake president's counselor, high councilor, bishop; retired furniture store owner. He and his wife, Aurora, are members of the Alfa Ward, La Paz Mexico Stake.

New Zealand Temple Visitors Center: Clark M. Hardy, 66, presently serving with his wife, Marian, in the New Zealand Temple Visitors center, and they served a previous mission; he's a former high councilor, bishop's counselor, ward clerk and ward financial clerk; retired motel owner and operator. They are members of the Alamo Ward, Logandale Nevada Stake.

Oakland Temple Visitors Center: Dean A. Barnes, 62, former regional representative, mission president, stake president, high councilor and bishop's counselor; pharmaceutical sales representative. He and his wife, La Nore, are members of the Uintah 5th Ward, Ogden Utah Weber Stake.

Winter Quarters Visitors Center: Kenneth R. Barker, 65, former mission president and counselor, regional representative, stake president and bishop; retired vice president of a drug store chain. He and his wife, Jacqueline, are members of the Wilsonville Ward, Lake Oswego Oregon Stake.
