I have been raised in the Church and have learned that Heavenly Father has a plan for me. This plan helps to guide me through my life and gives me a feeling of peace. I was baptized when I was 8 years old. I know that when I am 12 I will receive the Aaronic Priesthood, and when I am older I will receive the Melchizedek Priesthood. Then I want to go on a mission and get married in the temple. Knowing this helps me stay strong when I am tempted to do something wrong. I know where I came from, why I am here, and where I will go after I die. The plan is like a map.
Many people who lived on the earth didn't get to hear the gospel. Heavenly Father wants everyone to come and live with Him again so He has given them a second chance. They are taught the gospel in the spirit world and can be baptized by the youth through baptisms for the dead.I was raised in Strasbourg, France, between the ages of 4 and 9. We traveled all over Europe and visited a lot of historic sites. Because of this, I am interested in history. We visited many military cemeteries in Northern France and Belgium where four of my ancestors are buried. At first, I was shocked to see how many people had died, but after a while I learned that even if their life on earth was hard or short, Heavenly Father would take care of them in heaven.
The Berlin wall fell while we were in Germany. Before it came down, the people living in East Germany and other Communist countries were like prisoners. They couldn't leave their countries and people were not allowed in. Now many of those countries can have the missionaries teach. The people can learn of Heavenly Father's plan and can go to the temple and be sealed as families. They will be happy to learn the gospel.
While visiting holocaust memorials, I learned how mean people can be. Again, I felt peace knowing that Heavenly Father's plan was for these people, too.
I felt peace going to the open house and rededication of the Swiss Temple. It was such a beautiful and peaceful place. Everyone whispered to keep it reverent. I enjoyed it so much I asked to go through it a second time.
My grandpa in Canada died of cancer while we were away. I was sad and felt bad that I didn't get a chance to say goodbye and tell him that I loved him one last time. But I feel peace knowing that I will see him again and that we are sealed if we are worthy. I like reading the scriptures and learning more about Heavenly Father's plan for me. The stories help me to understand how others were faithful during hard times and how I can be, too, and that when we are good we are blessed. Heavenly Father's plan brings me peace and happiness.
