With the death of Elder Marvin J. Ashton, "a valiant servant of the Master has completed his lifetime of service on this mortal earth. And in his passing, Elder Ashton has left deep imprints in the sands of life," according to this week's Church News Viewpoint.
Elder Ashton, who served as a member of the Council of the Twelve for 22 years, died Feb. 25. Information about Elder Ashton's life and coverage of his funeral are on pages 3 and 4.
